Blog – Don’t Make That Mistake!

Your Business Isn’t What You Think It Is

Whether you know it or not, if you have a website and you are using it to fill your sales funnel you need to master one other line of work too, good grammar. For those who disagree, we say: Don’t Make That Mistake!

Grammar is a complicated business to be in, even for single product e-Commerce operations. Consider just a few of the elements of good grammar. A “word” may seem like a simple concept, but there are different kinds of words and different ways to use them properly. There is

  • The noun;
  • The pronoun;
  • The verb; and
  • The adjective (and don’t forget the adverb).

And that is just the start. Good grammar dictates knowing how to use prepositions, conjunctions, interjections and sentence connectors. And while we are on sentences, remember they require a mastery of the subject and predicate.

What happens if you don’t have the time or skill set to master grammar in addition to your business? Mistakes happen that you likely haven’t heard about since your last English class. Problems such as sentence fragments, the dreaded comma fault and the all too common fused sentence.

Clear and correct grammar fuels your sales

After mastering words and sentences the real work begins, and that entails ensuring your website or ad copy is constructed logically and with clarity. Sounds easy, yet there is the tricky bit of business of avoiding dangling modifiers, misplaced modifiers, split constructions and faulty comparisons.

Let’s also recall the importance of punctuation too, that element of grammar that calls for the appropriate use of commas, semicolons, colons, the apostrophe, to name but a few elements of punctuation.

If all of this has you thinking you have no idea what we are talking about, at least you know who to talk too,

We are here for those businesses that want to focus on their business and let those who focus on good grammar to help them clearly and correctly communicate their content to potential and existing customers, increasing website visits in the process, helping reduce Google Ad costs and lower Website bounce rates.
